Our Program

St. James’ Academy provides free after-school and summer enrichment programs to elementary school children who attend schools in the West Baltimore communities of Harlem Park, Lafayette Square, Sandtown-Winchester and Upton, providing important support to the community.

Our after-school initiative currently counts Harlem Park Elementary School and the Bell Foundation as partners in providing at-risk fourth-graders with critical academic instruction, enrichment activities and community events, and healthy nutrition throughout the schoolyear — resulting in increased score gains in math, literacy and academic self-confidence.

The St. James’ Summer Academy is a five-week summer program providing spiritual enrichment, academic coaching, recreational activities/outdoor play, and field trips to cultural and entertainment venues to more than 50 children in surrounding neighborhoods.

The Academy and its programs apply a strict non-discriminatory policy towards all students, and does not discriminate against applicants or students on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, ancestry, gender, gender identity and expression, or sexual orientation in any aspect of admissions, programming, or activity.
